Your 5G carrier questions answered about AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon 5G through HBE Yakabit: plans, pricing, contracts, equipment and support.
Getting started
What is 5G home and business internet, and how is it different from cable or fiber?
It is internet delivered over a carrier's 5G cellular network to a 5G router at your home or business, which carriers call fixed wireless access. There is no cable to trench and no fiber to wait for: once the router is in place you are online.
HBE Yakabit sells it on all three national 5G networks (AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon) with our own HBE-5G routers, set up and supported by our own team.
Which carriers can I get through HBE Yakabit?
- AT&T: 5G Internet Air, and AT&T Business Fiber for offices that need wired fiber. HBE Yakabit is a member of the AT&T Partner Exchange® program.
- T-Mobile: 5G internet on America's largest 5G network.
- Verizon: Verizon 5G Business Internet. HBE Yakabit is an authorized Verizon Business Partner.
See all three side by side on Carriers & plans.
Why buy carrier service through HBE Yakabit instead of straight from the carrier?
You get the same carrier network, plus everything around it from one local company:
- Our own HBE-5G routers, staged, tested and provisioned in-house before they reach you.
- In-house installers and engineers with over 40 years in telecom and wireless; no subcontractors.
- One point of contact for the router, the installation, the service and the support.
- Internet and business phones under one roof, tuned to work together.
How do I know which carrier is best at my address?
That is our job. Before you sign up, Sales checks coverage at your exact address and recommends the carrier that is strongest there. HBE Yakabit has mapping and other software tools, along with access to the carriers' portals, to check your address and each carrier's 4G/5G availability.
Because we install all three carriers every week, we choose by what works at your location, not by which carrier we prefer.
Will 5G work in a rural area or where my cell signal is weak?
Often, yes. The HBE-5G Outdoor Router is made for exactly this: it mounts outside on a wall, pole or roof, away from the walls and roofing that weaken the signal.
For tougher spots, the HBE-5G 4×4 MIMO antenna adds 7 to 12 dB of gain, or use the 8dBi set of 4 omni-directional antennas (every 3 dB doubles the signal). Both work on all three carriers. Availability still depends on your location, so let us check your address first.
How do I get started?
- Contact us: Talk to HBE Yakabit online or call 870-423-6223.
- We qualify your address: coverage check and carrier recommendation.
- Choose your plan and term: speed tier, agreement length and hardware.
- We set it up: your router arrives tested and provisioned, or our installers put it in for you.
- We ship you a router: your router also arrives tested and provisioned.
Plans & pricing
How much do the 5G plans cost?
Monthly prices for each carrier's speed tiers:
| AT&T 5G Internet Air | T-Mobile 5G | Verizon 5G Business Internet | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best for | Homes and businesses | Homes and small / home offices | Businesses |
| Up to 100 Mbps | $89.99/mo | $79.99/mo | $99.99/mo |
| Up to 200 Mbps | $99.99/mo | $89.99/mo | $149.99/mo |
| Up to 300+ Mbps | $109.99/mo | $99.99/mo | Ask Sales |
| Details | AT&T plans | T-Mobile plans | Verizon plans |
Pricing depends on the service contract agreement. Speeds are maximum download speeds and vary with the physical location.
Which plans are for homes and which are for businesses?
- AT&T 5G Internet Air suits both residential and business use.
- T-Mobile is best for residential and small or home office (SoHo) use.
- Verizon 5G Business Internet is built for business applications.
Which speed tier do I need?
- Up to 100 Mbps: light-duty sites, point-of-sale, small offices, everyday browsing and light streaming.
- Up to 200 Mbps: busier homes and offices with several people on video calls and cloud apps.
- Up to 300+ Mbps: heavy use: large file transfers, constant cloud syncing, many users on video.
Not sure? Tell us how many people and devices you have and we will size it for you.
Will I always get the full speed of my tier?
The tiers are maximum download speeds. Like any wireless service, your actual speed depends on your location, the signal and tower traffic.
That is why we place the router where the signal is strongest, outdoors when needed, and can add a high-gain antenna. If you are installing the router yourself (DIY), the custom HBE Yakabit software has an easy-to-read, very accurate signal meter to help you find the perfect location.
Is there a data cap?
AT&T 5G Internet Air, Verizon Business 5G, and T-Mobile, include unlimited data with no overage fees. Sales will confirm the data terms for the plan and carrier you choose. If you are buying a backup service plan, call your HBE Yakabit service rep for the package options.
Can I change my speed tier later?
All carriers have multi-level plans; moving up or down depends on your existing plan. Call an HBE Yakabit rep and they will help you.
Does Verizon offer faster tiers than 200 Mbps?
The published Verizon tiers are up to 100 and up to 200 Mbps. Through the Verizon Business Partner program we can also reach specialized tiers, including 400 Mbps and up with unlimited data options, depending on your location. Ask Sales.
What is Verizon's long-term price guarantee?
Verizon offers long-term pricing guarantees for business customers. As your Verizon Business Partner, we keep an eye on your account so it stays on the best rate structure. Sales can tell you how the guarantee applies to your plan.
Contracts & equipment cost
Do I have to sign a contract?
No, but a contract lowers your equipment cost. Each carrier offers the same three choices:
How much is the 5G router?
The HBE-5G Outdoor Router is $549.00 and the HBE-5G Indoor Router is $499.00. On a 2-year agreement the router costs you nothing; on a 1-year agreement you pay half; month-to-month you pay the full price.
Can I buy the router without a service plan?
No. Our 5G routers are sold only with a 5G Service Package. Each one is set up and provisioned for your carrier and your service before it ships.
Can I keep using my own Wi-Fi router?
Yes. The HBE-5G Indoor Router has a flexible WAN port that can pass the 5G connection through to your own router or firewall (IP passthrough). The Outdoor Router feeds a router or switch inside over its network cable, so your current network can stay in place.
Equipment & installation
Do I need the indoor or the outdoor router?
Mounts outside on a wall, pole or roof for the strongest, steadiest signal; best where indoor signal is weak or in rural areas. Weatherproof (IP67).
All in one box inside: 5G modem, Wi-Fi 6 and wired ports, with an optional wired backup line. Best where the signal indoors is good.
We will recommend the right one when we check your address.
Do you install it, or do I set it up myself?
Either way. Every router is tested and provisioned before it ships, so many sites are simple plug-and-play. If you are within a certain radius of HBE Yakabit Corp, our techs will install the system. If you are outside our area, we ship you the equipment and are just a phone call away to help you get up and running.
Does the outdoor router need a power outlet outside?
No. One PoE network cable carries both power and internet between the outdoor router and the inside equipment.
What if the signal is still weak after setup?
We have several ways to improve it: move the router outdoors or higher, add the HBE-5G 4×4 MIMO directional antenna or the 8dBi Omni antenna set, or switch to the carrier that is strongest at your location.
Will the Wi-Fi reach my whole home or office?
The HBE-5G Indoor Router has dual-band Wi-Fi 6 that covers a home or small office on its own. For larger spaces, add HBE-AX3000 mesh units: they work as one network with one name and password. The Outdoor Router feeds an HBE-AX3000 inside for whole-home Wi-Fi.
Can I switch carriers later without new equipment?
Usually, yes. Our HBE-5G routers and antennas work on AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon, and every router has two SIM slots, so a carrier change is normally a new service plan and SIM, not new hardware. Any change is subject to your current agreement, so call us first.
Is the equipment covered by a warranty?
Yes. All products purchased are fully warranted through HBE Yakabit, and because we built and deployed your equipment, warranty and support come from the same team.
Reliability & backup
What happens if my 5G connection drops?
- Two SIM slots: if one SIM's connection drops, the router moves to the second SIM by itself.
- Wired backup: plug another internet line into the Indoor Router's WAN port and it takes over automatically when 5G is down, then switches back by itself.
- Monitored: our routers run HBE's own firmware, so we can see their signal history and help remotely.
Can 5G be a backup for my existing fiber or cable internet?
Yes, with AT&T 5G Internet Air and Verizon 5G Business Internet, as well as T-Mobile. If your wired line goes down, your internet and phone calls move over to 5G automatically, with no one having to touch anything.
Can I get AT&T Business Fiber through you too?
Yes. AT&T Business Fiber suits busy offices and cloud-heavy work that need symmetric gigabit speeds and very low latency. It can also be paired with AT&T 5G as an automatic backup. Availability depends on your address, so ask Sales.
Business phones over 5G
Is 5G good enough for business phone calls?
Yes, when it is set up for voice. Phone calls are real-time: a lost piece of audio is never re-sent, so it shows up as a choppy call. Because we manage both the 5G connection and the phone system, we prioritize voice at the router (QoS), so calls stay clear even when others are streaming or downloading.
Does the HBE Yakabit phone system work with every carrier?
Yes. AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon all work with HBE Yakabit Business VoIP. See Unified Communications and our VoIP PBX for how internet and phones work together.
Support & billing
Who do I call when something goes wrong?
You call HBE Yakabit at 870-423-6223, not a carrier call center. The same team that sold, set up and installed your service is responsible for fixing it, whether the problem is the router, the signal or the phones.
Will I get one bill?
Yes. Your carrier service, routers and HBE Yakabit phone service are bundled on one HBE Yakabit invoice, with one support team.
How do I get a quote?
Talk to HBE Yakabit online or call 870-423-6223. We will check coverage at your address, recommend a carrier and plan, and confirm your term and hardware cost before anything is ordered.
You can also click the Sales Request tab at the top right of the main website page, choose your equipment or just fill in your contact information and submit, and an HBE Yakabit rep will reach out to you ASAP.
